Throwing clay on the wheel spurred my early interest in other Asian art forms: Chinese brush painting, Japanese Sumi painting, and Haiku poetry; also in Buddhism. Through my paintings, I express my spiritual practices of love, compassion, and gratitude.
I usually paint watercolor greeting cards from photographs I have taken. The original cards go to friends, family, and to others I know will enjoy getting them.

My watercolor work is "loose" in style. I try to capture a moment in time, as when writing a haiku poem. My subject matter varies. I often paint to illustrate a haiku I have written, a moment seen in nature, a moment with family and friends, or a quote that strikes a chord of emotion.
Recently, I have begun making larger paintings that have been displayed publicly.
